Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actress. She was born in Winnipeg and born in Wellington Paquin began her acting debut portraying Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at the age of 11, and was the 2nd youngest recipient of the award in Oscar history. Canadian-born New Zealand actor who won the Academy Award as a youngster as Best Supporting Actress acting as the bright and interesting child of Holly Hunter's leading role in The Piano. As a result of an audition, Flora McGrath was cast as the daughter a Scottish musician. Flora McGrath is the child of a mute Scottish musician, who emigrated into New Zealand to marry in the 19th century. As a teenager, her family moved from Canada to the United States. Paquin played Jane Eyre's title character as a teenager in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (2000) as well as the main role in Fly Away Home (2000). Paquin portrayed Frankie Addams as a child in the television version of Carson McCullers novel The Member of the Wedding. Paquin also had a role of the queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's 1997 film Amistad. She portrayed teenagers on Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000). Also, she was the character of the teenage groupie Polexia Aphrodisa in Almost Famous (2000).
